Artist Statement for Lilith

This piece depicts the scene in which Lilith is exiled from the Garden of Eden, and an autobiographical account of a failed romance branded by patriarchal beliefs.

Set midnight, Eden stands nearly barren and gated by a fence of bone and maggots. Beyond the fence, Adán, clothed in military fashion, listens attentively as God details his new plan. Outside the fence, Lilith, dressed scantily by two banded kraits and snake skin, stares at the land before her. From her ear, a heart-eyed Satan hovers, sharing her view.
